The girls continue with the whispering. Grrr @ it makes me feel so uncomfortable. They said they were going to be supportive about the weight loss challenge at work, but when they talk about their food strategies, they whisper. Also, someone closed the blinds at my window yesterday. We have to clean our office, so there are no cleaning people to blame. The light above my desk does not work. I need the light from the window to be able to see.

A very big Grrrrrrrrr from me too Win.Ignore them completely. You just do your work they'll soon alter there ways.Take Care God Bless Kath x
You cannot control their actions, but you can control your own. Open the blinds, if anyone says anything, just say you needed the light, which is the truth. As for the whispering, ignore it. I know it is difficult, but if you are to be who you are, you can't let it get to you. Be yourself, consistently, and the truth will reveal itself. The skinny girl who comes over to talk...maybe she used to work in that area and now is in a different area and doesn't want to lose the "connection" with them.
Win, I was kind of in your situation 20 yrs ago when a girl (RIP) turned against me because I wouldn't support her in being ugly to a co-worker. She would totally ignore me, talking super sweetly to the other employees. I finally confronted her and of course she denied it, saying she wasn't being any different.
I realize you're on probation, and that would worry me. In this slumping economy we have to protect our job at all costs. I guess I would just grin & bear it until then.
Can you take a lamp to your desk?

whisper to an imaginary friend when you're around them. that should get them worried, heee heee heee
Hang in there, dear. They are being weird, and petty, and rude, but we know you're above game playing. Too bad this is in a work environment cuz we all need our jobs. And, yep, open those blinds, get a lamp, or both!
They don't sound very friendly. Just hang in there ... hopefully they'll ralize what we all already know. Your a wonderful person.
Their testing your strengths and integrity. Show them that The Women In The Glass Box is much stronger than their whispers. Never let them see you sweat! Your a kind soul with a wonderful heart and that's hard for them to swallow. Take care of you and enjoy each and everyday!

I love Shadows idea !!!!
Never mind my dear friend..one ay they will see you for the person we know you to be..and if they don't more fool them...I am sure the boss will look further than gossips when he makes decisions...as fror the blind...just pull it up again..and again if need be !!
Take care keep smiling,
Much Love Sybil xx
Sorry you have to go through that mess that is why I hate working with hens.
Open your blinds even if they continue to be closed. I might slip the B card soon.
You do what you do obviously someone is threatened by what you can do. So keep doing it.
Take care, Chrissie
When people act like that it's usually because of jealousy. Keep on doing what you are doing GF. Ignore the ignorant and smile at the mean.

Yeah, it does get old fast when people whisper in front of me. However, this stuff happens to me on a regular basis: people whispering in front of me or speaking in front of me in another language. It happens so often that I don't get upset anymore when it happens.
I really don't get the feeling that they are talking about you. And if they are, then what are you gonna do...........
Sometimes I end up whispering to others, but that's only because I am talking or giggling about something dirty or disgusting. They are in their twenties like me, I am sure they're just being immature.........
I am sorry you have such rude co workers. I know how I would feel in that situation. Hang in there.
Sending love, hugs and prayers your way.

Wini, I think the best thing to do is ignore tham like Kath said. They are being childish and trying to get a reaction out of you. It's easier said than done. I've had situations like that over the years. I've just focused on the fact that I'm there to work and not socialize or make friends. Just keep doing your job and focus yourself on the goal of passing your probation. I feel for you...hugs
GRRR...I hate when people act so childish..it does make you feel like crap...but try not to let them know it bothers you...
Kill them with kindness my friend... :)
I would open the blind and keep opening if someone closes it...I agree with someone else above...can you take a table lamp to work with you?
Seems like your working conditions are poorly...looks like they would have your office in tip top shape...with everything you need available to you when you started...
So sorry things are the way they are....
Hugs
Terri
