So yesterday I felt as if I was called into the Principal's office. I will be on Suspension without pay on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday because I told someone from an outside agency that I have paid for all of my own office supplies. My employer said this comment makes the agency look bad. I am on salary and Veteran's Day is a holiday. Am I protected under the law? Do these laws also apply to a non-profit organization? Anyone out there with some legal savvy? Sandra?
When other little girls were busy playing with dolls, I was dreaming of a career. Too bad reality cannot be as perfect and wonderful as the dreams you make up in your imagination. In spite of the obstacles and difficulties of my job, I like my job, but I continue to ask myself the same question: Will I be able to keep my sanity until I am able to reach retirement? And when I finally reach retirement, will I be able to survive on the little amount I will receive?!

I wish I knew the answer! Seems they went a little far with their disciplinary measures. Legal aid? Hugs-
WOW..... What the hell ????
What kinda of reasoning is that ??
Is that the reason they are putting on paper too ?
The laws vary according to state, so since I am in CA I have no clue. You would have to call your Labor board or something like that.
It sounds like they are finding any excuse in the book to let you go. While the last thing I want for you is for you to lose your job, this job has done nothing but suck the life out of you, and you deserve better. This may be your forced way out to find something better.
In CA, one must be employed for the last 18 months to qualify for unemployment. Not sure about Texas.
Depending on what happens, you can also turn to Legal Aid. I know that in my area, those agencies are flooded with volunteers looking to build their resumes.
I just want you to be happy and be in a better place, good luck. ::hugs::
Oh my things are going from bad to worse...sorry that I can't help from this side of the pond. I know that over here one has to have two verbal warnings and then 2 written warnings.... There must be a union or somthing that you can contact. we have a lot of places over here for free legal advice.
Please keep us posted
Prayers winging there way.
Love Sybil xx
that doesn't make any sense - how can they legally suspend you for making that comment? I would call the labour board..I'm in Canada and the laws may be different here but I don't think they are allowed to do that. Sarah
Long time, no talk. I'd say hope all is well, but after reading this...I can see it isn't. You have to get out of that rat trap. Office folk can be real petty and whiney people.Just drag you down with them. Gotta ask yourself, do you still want to be concerned with this crap in five years. Or even one or two for that matter? Nice photos as always...take care of yourself. LL
99.9% sure that they can't do that. Contact a lawyer, they usually give you a half hour free to see if you are a fit and if they want to take the case. That should let you know something...
Pitiful! I wish I could help you with that question but I just don't know. Don't let them find out you have a blog. They would probably fire you for writing about it.
I love that first photo!!
AMAZING AND SO TRUE!
:D
