I Love NY
When we changed planes in Houston, our seats were so far apart that I tried to get us closer together. In doing so, somehow, I got bumped up to First Class. OMG @ is this how rich people are treated? The man gave me a margarita to start off. I was flying before the plane was! Lunch was a wonderful Greek salad with chicken and vinegarette dressing, a fruit salad of cantaloupe, grapes, and pineapple, a hard roll, and corn chowder. The man offered me some red or white wine, but after the margarita, I thought I had better not! LOL...
When we came into New York, the weather changed and it began to rain... We walked up to where we were supposed to meet... The boy was the first to see her there... With big smiles, they yelled for each other until their bodies were in a tight embrace... Mother kissing her son... and son hugging his Mother... As always, the reunions are so emotional... so full of joy and happiness and gratitude... and as usual, it brought a tear to my eye...
Meanwhile, the weather became worse. Because of the thunderstorms and tornado watch, I was not able to return to Texas on Friday night, so I had to look for a hotel. Unfortunately, I took the wrong shuttle and they gave me a hard time because I was looking for a different hotel. The man threw the phone number at me, but I got the ride back. Then, it took the hotel three hours to get me a room, because they were so busy checking people in. There were so many airport cancellations that people were pouring into the hotel and other hotels near the airport were booked also. They must have made a million dollars that one night at the hotel where I was! Every time my boss called to pay for the room, they put him on hold. By the time I got to my room, it was too late to do anything except look at the fabulous view outside my window of this bridge in my tag, so I ordered Chinese, took a long bath, and lay myself down to sleep in those wonderfully cold sheets in that king sized bed. I was feeling so pampered and I haven't felt like that in a very long time!
Unfortunately, the trip back was not as nice. On the morning flight, they only gave me cold cereal and on the afternoon flight, I only got orange juice...
YES, I wore my lucky black shirt, and as usual, it brought me luck. What is it about that shirt?! I met two men while I was on this trip, so I have two new email addresses. LOL

Drama Queen
Am I moving too fast for ya? I only got 3 comments on my last entry. LOL...
No, Danielle, I was not able to do anything with that link for the ice cream kit. I had to make my own tubes. LOL @ it happens... MORE work! Grrr...
LOL at Terri wanting to borrow my Lucky Black Shirt... It's just a plain shirt, but it was also the shirt I wore when the 23-year-old guy with the HOT body hit on me. I hope it never wears out. LOL

Summer Dreams
Thanks for the update, Sybil. I hope this computer will allow me to check out your new blog. It's about time you started a blog here. I want to see more pictures of the inside of that cathedral in Bath, please.
Work? Well, I have been dragging at work. The getting up so early and driving to work an hour away is so tiring... And I am usually staying after five 'clock, which I don't get paid for because I am on salary... I am so tired. Healthwise, I am on my 3rd batch of antibodics and I am still sick... Grrr... My weekends are no help, either. I usually end up doing errands, washing clothes, buying groceries, and all those awful things that I don't have time to do during the week... I have slowly started to pack, but it has been difficult finding the size boxes that I want...
On Thursday, I threw some salt over my left shoulder! LOL... Am I jinxed? All of my cases are going into their 2nd or 3rd sponsors because the previous ones had charges or changed their minds or they have taken weeks and in one case a month to approve my cases. What is that?! Grrr...
The Eye has been removed as our supervisor. He is a trainer now... probably because I had to write him up?... but mostly because of his own doing... So now Spelling Bee (the one who can't spell) is our supervisor. She is always cranky so I don't know if it is going to be any better...
Yesterday, we had some summer activities with the kids and someone made some tasty barbecue chicken. It was so good! They told us we could go casual, so I wore jeans and a black shirt. One of the boys noticed the main secretary and was appalled by what she was wearing, especially because of her position. Then, two of the boys told me that I always look nice and elegant, and that even on casual day, I dress right and look good in my jeans. OMG @ they notice everything. Thank God, I was wearing my lucky black shirt. LOL

To Love is to Receive
My favorite Telenovela is back! Would you believe the woman in the picture above and the picture of the woman below are the same person?! They are! This is the original Ugly Betty aka Betty La Fea from Columbia. Ever since it came out, people have tried to copy it, and even though most new versions have been well received, none of them compare to this original version.
This is a comedy, and most of it made me laugh so hard that I almost peed in my pants, but Betty's transformation was my favorite part of this story. Betty used to cover up being ugly by making fun of herself. How do you cover up your own insecurities? The one thing that most women don't realize is that beauty is an option. Some women go about being ugly all of their lives because they have been hurt, because no one has taught them any different, or because they decide that age permits them to be ugly. Betty changes her style and she gets rid of the excess facial hair, but she knows that all of that is not enough to transform her into the beautiful person she wants to be... She works from the inside out, focusing on forgiveness of others, forgiveness of self, and in getting rid of the bad energies that keep us stagnant.
I wish this story was on DVD, because watching this Telenovela is how I learned Spanish, so it holds a special place in my heart.
Maybe I should have been a movie critic; huh? LOL...
Deeply apologetic for being away so long... I have been having big computer problems, but I'm happy to finally be able to get into my blog...
I have more tags to add. I will add them soon.
